Diet tips for noobs

By jifester

Here are a few simple tips that i put together..
Diet tip #1
Cut back on alcohol consumption. This is often overlooked by many people. One gram of alcohol has seven calories; this is almost as high as fat which has nine calories per gram! If you are a binge drinker, it is going to make it quite a bit harder to burn fat off your body! Try to cut back, every little bit helps!

Diet tip #2
Cut back on sugar drinks. Even if you cut just soda out of your diet it will help. A can of Pepsi has 150 calories! Some people drink two or more per day, which adds up to 300+ calories! As I said before, every little bit helps.

Diet tip #3
Nutrition, you need to eat right! Do not follow these “fad diets” that only cut fat from your diet. You cannot over look calories! It does not matter how much fat you cut if you still consume more calories than you burn per day. I will get back to this later on. You need to eat a balanced diet; it’s as simple as that!

Diet tip #4
Here is a nutritional layout that I have used and found that it worked exceptionally. I call it the 35/35/35 diet. It stands for 35g carbohydrates,35g protein, and 35g fat per meal. You can mix up the numbers to suit your needs. Remember, you need to consume fewer calories than your burn per day to lose weight. You can tweak this diet to your liking.

Diet tip #5
Drink lots of water! Most people do not get enough water. Drinking water will aid you in feeling “fuller” than you are which helps you if you aretrying to maintain a calorie deficient diet. Water also helps to flush your system. You can aim for 2-3L per day.

Diet tip #6
Try to eat 5 or 6 smaller meals per day. This will make you feel “full”and not allow you to binge like many people do when they eat just 3 meals.

Diet tip #7
Try to eat lots of dark green veggies, or just veggies in general. These will fill you up, give you essential nutrients and best of all then have high fiber content and we all know how important that is!

Pointer: There are approx. 3500 cals/lb fat, you can do the math to determine how much you need to cut back to lose want to lose per week/month!
